End Of Days – Chris O’Brien |The Paracast|Stalking The Herd|UFOS|Conspira-Seacruise|EOD 20

Episode 20: The Cult Of Personality

Chris opened the show by telling us he recently spent a week in the hospital. At the International UFO Congress he made the mistake of going into the a restaurant in the casino and started to get sick again. He’s now on antibiotics and steroids.

He explained how he doesn’t go around creating “cults of personality” and promoting himself shamelessly like quite a number of people do in the field. “I’m not into that,” he said. “I’m just into doing the work.” He doesn’t make the money to pay his bills by doing this kind of work.
“I have a real problem with grandstanding showboaters who every six to eight months have to come up with some new sensational mystery-mongering thing to keep their names out in the limelight. I don’t do that.”
Michael takes Chris way back in time to when he was visited in his bedroom in Bellevue, Washington, at the age of six. Chris said “they” followed him around the neighborhood and one night his older sister found him at a neighbor’s house. He described them as “biological robots,” two-dimensional stick-men who traveled in a group. Chris mentioned reading about similar experiences in the same area of Washington state in John Keel’s book, Operation Trojan Horse.
Chris admitted that his parents didn’t believe him. He described himself as having Attention Deficit Disorder as a schoolboy and at the age of 13 was taken to see Ira Birkland, the first licensed hypnotherapist in the United States. He said the session ended early, that his mother was upset and he never went back. He also revealed that he was adopted and his father was a “Who’s Who” architect worth millions. His mother, strangely enough, died via foul play. Chris had his suspicions about his dad, so his sister had him written out of the will. Chris removed himself from the family home at age 15 to become a “cowboy slave.”
He eventually went to college in New York City, then wound up playing keyboards in a band in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The band turned down a record deal for $10K because, they realized, they’d have to split it five ways. He then went on to become the Director of Visual Merchandising for a large company and described himself as “the only window designer in Manhattan who wasn’t gay.” He attended acting school in the Village and went on to get parts in Ghostbusters, 9 1/2 Weeks and a Hall & Oates video. He also spent time modeling for Kool cigarettes, Electro-Voice microphones, and Leather Warehouse.
Christopher recounted a sighting he had in New Paltz, New York, in 1979. He also talked about living in the Bronx for two years where he became heavily involved in the Hip Hop scene which was still underground at the time. It was while discussing his love of Funk music that Michael asked him if it were true that all drummers were crazy. Chis wasn’t sure if that was the case but did contend that all singers are prima donnas who never help carry the gear. He also asserted that keyboard players never get fired, they just quit.
Chris’ opinion is that people are sucking the soul out of music these days and he confirmed that you just can’t make money making music anymore. He and Michael wrapped up the subject by noting the importance of tube compression.
Talk then turned to the movie industry which they agreed is filled with reboots. Chris’ opinion is that the powers that be are gun-shy. They then discussed their disappointment with the film Arrival.
Chris has his own video production company but said it’s impossible to get anything done these days. People are just too gun-shy and it’s running roughshod over creativity. He said he’s glad he’s not trying to pay his bills by writing screenplays.
The subject then switched to suspected frauds and hoaxers. Michael told Chris about what he observed at the 2011 Conscious Life Expo in Los Angeles: Stan Romanek was on a UFO panel with Giorgio Tsoukalos when Stan brought up the Alien Through the Window case & probing. Michael and his father were the only ones in the audience who laughed as Giorgio gave them a nod. Chris proceeded to then give us an update on Stan’s trial for child pornography.
Speaking of criminals, Michael told Chris that he saw the one and only Sean David Morton at this year’s Conscious Life Expo. After Chris mumbled something about “fucking cojones” he said, “There’s very few people that I would just love to meet in a dark alley with nobody around. He’s one of them.” Chris explained how Sean used not one or the other, but both the prefix “Dr.” and the suffix “Ph.D.” and described him as having “totally rampant ego issues.” It seems Dr. Morton had been arrested by the SEC for defrauding people. Michael then informed us that Dr. Morton arrest occurred upon disembarking from a Conspira-Sea cruise. Strange times, indeed.
Chris went on to tell us how he’d been invited to speak at a conference with some other reputable names but then found out that he’d actually be joined by the likes of Alfred Webre, Andrew Basiago, Laura Eisenhower, Douglas Dietrich and one Dr. Sean David Morton, Ph.D. So he showed up at the conference and said, “You ignorant people, you’re sitting in the pews of a church of the 21st Century.”
Regarding David Wilcox and Corey Goode, Chris said, “They create cults of personality.”
Did you know that Laura Eisenhower claims she went to the planet Mars with Barack Obama?
Michael asked about Stephen Bassett. Chris told him, “If he wants to spend a few days on your couch, don’t let him. You can’t get rid of him.”
On Steven Greer: “He’s bat-shit fucking crazy. He’s a total ego-maniac.” Chris tells us the story of how someone recently punked Dr. Greer and his group down in Florida.
They then discussed Jaime Maussan. Another crazy fuck.
On John Lear: “He’s an artful disinformation agent.”
Richard Dolan: “He’s a bit of a whore in terms of getting publicity,” and, he reports, “has a hot new girlfriend” who he recently proposed to at the International UFO Congress. Turns out Jason Martell recently proposed to his girlfriend too. There seems to be a lot of that going around…
Chris reminds us, “If you pay your bills with this kind of work you’re going to be compromised and you’re going to take shortcuts to keep your name out there to keep the cash flow going.”
Jordan Maxwell: “A very good researcher.”
Bill Cooper: “Total nutcase. Angry alcoholic. Totally out of his mind.”
Alex Jones: “Big-mouthed fear mongerer.”
Chris says he thinks the Large Hadron Collider at CERN put us into an alternate universe.
Talk then turns to Chris‘ books. He moved to Colorado in 1989 and began investigating the strange events in the San Luis Valley which extends from South Central Colorado into Northern New Mexico. It’s the largest alpine valley in the world. This all began when Chris write an article for the local paper. It got picked up by the Associated Press and he would up having enough material to write a book, The Mysterious Valley. Eventually he got an agent and the book was published. He then followed that book up with two more in the series, and completed two other as well. He also publishes reports for free. You can visit his website, ourstrangeplanet.com for more information.
Chris tells us that the Skinwalker Ranch was the most mind-blowing case he’d heard of outside of the San Luis Valley.
Chris is the cohost of a weekly show called The Paracast, the longest-running paranormal show outside of Coast to Coast AM. They’ve never missed a week in eleven years. Close to 600 episodes.
On Michael Horn: “I think he knows [Billy] Meier is a fraud.” Chris says Meirer created the boilerplate for Greer and the whole “cult of personality.” He tells us that Meier’s ex-wife lambasted him as a total fraud and huckster. He says Horn is “one of those people I’d love to stumble into in a dark alley.”
On Horn, Greer, Morton, Wilcock: “These are the people that keep academia and the scientific community as far away from this toxic mess as possible. It’s because of this type of BS and the stupid idiot people that believe in this stuff. If you want to believe in something go to church.”
Chris says that his mantra lately has been “Get a grip, get a life and get real. Do your own research and don’t rely on the Internet or your TV set to educate you.” He says he’s read thousands of books and he’s met anybody whols anybody in this field over the last 25 years, and if he hasn’t he probably know their best friend and he probably has their phone number anyway.
Chris says he has four other jobs to pay his bills…
Which leads us to discussion about his cohost, Gene Steinberg. Their show, The Paracast, is on 35-40 AM/FM talk radio stations around the country, they have a huge audience, yet Gene is constantly begging for money. Chris says Gene “is doing a hell of a lot better than I am.” Chris tells us he never gets paid, that Gene “keeps shaming me to keep me there.” He says Gene is stuck in the 50s, that it is he who gets all the great guests. But he’s tired of reading 2-3 books a week and having to make all the phone calls.
Back to The Paracast. Chris says they’re like 60 Minutes, they ask the tough questions. “We don’t play the true-believer game.”
On Linda Moulton Howe: “Don’t get me started.” Chris explains that she trained him but she stabbed him
in the back and tried to destroy him personally and professionally. “She’s a charlatan. She comes up with absolute bald faced BS.”
Michael then asked Chris if he preferred television or movies. Chris tells us that after the 2007 presidential election he took his dish receiver and threw it off a cliff. “Two hundred channels and nothing to watch.”
Chris tells us he doesn’t’ really have anger issues. “I’m more irritated and frustrated, really, about the state of the investigative field that I’m involved in.” He says hater are certain individuals that he’s really like to go toe-to-toe with because he knows that any words would be wasted. “Somebody has got to point their finger at these motherfucking emperors on parade. It’s just sickening what people are buying into.”
The discussion wraps up with Chris saying he was born in Indio, California, which is not far from where Michael lives, right on top of the fault lines that run through California. They discuss the earthquakes they’ve lived through, Chris plays baby rhino sounds, asks when this show is going to be broadcast, and Michael invites him to be on the network he plans to start in the near future.
